VIDEO! Playing accordion tango with "Trio con Brio" at St. Julien Hotel.
Boulder, Colorado, Summer 2010
Well, it's no bandoneón (the typical instrument used in Argentine tango, similar to an accordion) but that didn't stop me from taking the opportunity to play with the Trio Con Brio. The cellist, Lisa, let me borrow her accordion to learn some tangos so I could play with them. Beautiful tango, gorgeous Colorado scenery... It doesn't get much better.

Playing piano on Pearl Street, Summer 2009
This past summer in Boulder, Colorado I played piano on Pearl Street Mall a couple days a week.
Perhaps a couple of my favorite requests were the following:
-A fellow who wished to hear the French National Anthem anytime I spotted him walking by. My reward was a two-dollar bill (ALWAYS... a two-dollar bill).
-A group of middle-schoolers, all involved in a musical play group who requested songs from Phantom of the Opera. It turned into a half-hour kareoke session.
-A Brazilian family visiting Boulder asked if I knew any Brazilian tunes. The chat inevitably ended with the hit song, Girl from Ipanema (Garota de Ipanema)... Saudades!
-The Saturday night crowd... at night fall the kaeroke songs became hits --- Piano Man, Tiny Dancer, American Pie, a good time was had with the true American classics.
